A Study on Elemental Sulfur Equilibrium Content in Mixtures of Methane, Carbon Dioxide, and Hydrogen Sulfide under Conditions of Natural Gas Pipeline Transmission

The effect of gathering pipeline pressure, temperature, and key components on the solubility monomeric sulfur in high-sulfur-content natural gas is directly related to prediction prevention deposition surface pipelines. Based our previous study a model with new formula for binary interaction coefficient between H2S, gas–solid thermodynamic phase equilibrium was improved based principle considering both physical chemical solution mechanisms. Two expressions coefficients CO2 CH4, temperature solvent density, are proposed this model. In paper, main factors, such as CO2, affecting law elemental investigated. results show that total high-sulfur-bearing tends decrease an increase which promotes solution, mechanism prevails. Conversely, promoted, With increase, where decreases slightly at first then increases continuously, pressure inflection point about 2.0 MPa, has significant promoting sulfur. H2S concentration general significantly can be neglected when molar does not exceed 10%.
